What is the minimum age and how old do I have to be to rent a vehicle?

For rentals in Spain, Italy, Portugal, France and Germany: Each driver must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid driving licence for the duration of the rental period. A minimum of one year's driving licence is not required. Cargo vans are excluded, for which a minimum of 20 years of age and 2 years of driving licence are compulsory.
